Jane Benjamin, representing Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) and Director of Mortgages, Connect for Intermediaries, who spoke at Retreat South, said:
“This Retreat was an amazing opportunity to network with peers. As a profession, we face so many pressures and challenges that it often feels like you are very alone, so it was fantastic to gather together with colleagues from the broker community.
The event provided a welcoming space to share our personal stories, as well as practical, hands-on tips to combat stress and restore balance. It’s refreshing for a lender to put brokers’ mental health first, and I’m hoping the event will be a catalyst for people like me to achieve a better work-life balance.”
Sarah Tucker, CEO of The Mortgage Mum, said:
“It’s been absolutely amazing. It’s so needed, more needed than I thought it was. Emma was a complete standout for me. She was so impactful, so you can really resonate with everything she said, but she was also powerful.
I felt her message so much that she made me cry. But, a huge realisation, you get light bulb moments in your life. She is definitely one of mine. So, I’ll be talking about this event for a long time because of my impact.”
Paul Adams continues:
With additional Retreat activities planned for upcoming exhibitions later this year, we plan to expand the reach and impact of our Be More You initiative to support more brokers.
After the event, keynote speakers Emma Harris and Jessie Laute appeared as guests on The Specialist Podcast hosted by Rob Barnard, where they shared their inspiring stories. Emma’s journey led to the creation of her Slow the F**k Down movement while Jessie’s experience with corporate burnout motivated her to train as a breathwork expert.

We understand that behind the broker you have to be, there’s the broker you want to be
